Small fish, big sea - and here we are again. Starting another blog, decades deep in the most chronic addiction I have ever known. Digitalis. Who knew? AI turned out to be the cyber-crack of skinner-boxes.

Shot away I am. Concentration-span 15 seconds. Can’t even listen to a pop song all the way through now. Not even one of my own. When I was 10 I read Lord Of The Rings - today I struggle to get through a single side of A4. My life has turned into a never-ending search for shortcuts.

My last career went full burnout - computer programmer… the story about Why To Quit* that I finally settled on, was that “coding is quite engaging - like a game of chess. BUT if you spend a year doing it, then look back on the year, the only things you can remember… the only “life”, was time not spent in front of a screen”

17 years later and 1000 times worse. It’s not even my job any more.

I have made quite a lot of these https://goldenmeancalipers.com - I have sold about $2 million worth of them - but the great wheel in the sky has turned, and now once again, I am an artist starving in a garret.

It’s a big garret, and holy hell it is cold right now. In about 4 months it will be mind-meltingly hot. It’s a large tin shed. It rocks.

If I don’t get my shit together soon I’m going to lose my mind.

I am interested in music, computers, digital fabrication, art, magic, history, psychedelics, and rebellion - so I’m trying to combine all of those into a single thing - which due to the burnout dramas, has taken a sod of a long time.

The plan is to

1) make mad looking guitars as clickbait in the service of selling Spacers.
2) sell Spacers so I can carry on making mad looking guitars,
3) which will trap me into playing live again, and
4) also provide an audience for the graphic art which contains
5) Reticulum mesh-networking nodes - ultra-resilient / secure comms devices

It’s not really a plan. It’s more of a vibe to be heading in the direction of.
